Download the PDF of “Alternative Technical Study #7“
Very often, the Exercise of the Week is based on something I’ve found challenging to play during the previous week or two. This one is based on a lick that cropped up on a recent project with the Afro- Latin Jazz Orchestra here in NYC. I added a few notes to make it easier to loop, when I was practicing it, and now I’m sharing it with you. I wrote this out in all 12 keys so I could really get to grips with the shape of the airflow across the whole phrase. Number 13 on the downloadable PDF is the original key I have to play it in.
We want to hear you playing this exercise! Video yourself playing a key or two that you find challenging and share on Facebook or Instagram, tagging @AirflowMusicNYC. We’ll repost our favourites!
